Moonraking 2015 saw some amazing artworks, crafts and design in the lead up to the Moonraking procession and finale, courtesy of the Handmade Trail. Slaithwaite was buzzing with visitors throughout the day, and as it grew dark, the crowds began to gather in the village centre to follow the procession!
Slaithwaite Moonraking Festival was started 30 years ago by Satellite Arts with Slaithwaite Community Association. The festival now takes place every two years (in the odd year) and has grown and developed into an exciting celebration of creativity, crafts and storytelling.
Here you will find some of the magical pictures taken during the 2015 Slaithwaite Moonraking Festival.

Become a Festival SponsorFor over 30 years Slaithwaite Moonraking Festival has been lighting up the Colne Valley and bringing a glow to the village of Slaithwaite.
Every festival year, we have to raise over £15,000 in order to run the festival and cover our running costs. Much of this comes via funding applications, but in recent years budget cuts have seen this funding source decrease.
As a registered charity receiving limited public funding, we face the challenge of meeting our running costs while maintaining our contribution to the community every festival year and 2019 is no different. By supporting the Festival you can help to secure the future this important festival.
