[two_third]The 2017 Slaithwaite Moonraking Festival opens on Friday 17th February with Tunes and Tales which, this year, is being hosted by Jenny and the Goodmen at Co-up (above The Emporium). An evening of great music and storytelling is promised to get the festival off to a great start & there will be a licensed bar.

Tickets on the door: £6 (£4 participants)

Volunteers Lantern Training WeekendLantern workshop

For those who want to help in workshops during the festival – a chance for team-bonding and trying out prototypes.

Date: 4/5th Feb

Time: 10am – 4pm each day

Venue: Slaithwaite Community Centre


Moonraking Mechanicals

A costumed troupe of actors performing the Moonraking story on the street at the Finale. We are looking for people aged 8–80 years old (under 13 years to be accompanied) who want to have some performing fun.

Rehearsals start weekly on Sundays from  5th February at Slaithwaite Community Centre  2-4pm .

Moonhenge by Andy BurtonMechanical Universe

Unique opportunity for 11-16 year olds to work with lantern artist, Dave Young from Rag and Bone to create a set-piece Space Carousel Lantern to feature at the Moonraking Finale.

First session will be on Saturday 16th February with follow-up sessions during the festival week. Come and get a head start!
