Slaithwaite Moonshine Festival of Light
Shining with Creative Positivity
16th - 17th of February 2024
We look forward to lighting up Slawit once again with Moonshine 2024!
We are inviting residents and businesses to take their own lead and either reuse a window lantern you may have used before or create your own new illuminated picture windows that tells a story. These will make up a window picture trail across the village and valley for locals and visitors to enjoy on the 16th and 17th of February 2024.
We would like residents of Slaithwaite to:
Make or reuse a window picture in your house or business premises. Specialist materials, making techniques and designs can be found on our website. We would like every window to tell a story, old or new.
Liaise and encourage your neighbours to take part. To make a real impact we need blocks of window pictures in every street in Slaithwaite.
Light your picture window on the 16th and 17th of February half term in the early evening 6-9pm.
Take part, enjoy taking a walk around the village and looking at all the Moonshine Picture Windows. Consider making a donation toward the prospective Slaithwaite Moonraking Festival to help us realise the legendary 40th anniversary lantern festival in 2025.

LOOKING TO THE FUTURE
We have had no grant funding to support Moonshine 2024 and are putting all our energies into grant applications to hopefully raise funds for a very special Moonraking 2025. This will celebrate the festival’s 40th birthday!
Any support you can give to help us realise this celebration will really help to make it happen. You can donate here:
